co-founder / payments engineer
bespoke closed loop payment solutions for retail, hospitality and enterprise clients. Co-founded and helped scale a bootstrapped 30 person company with offices and employees in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Hungary, while working across iOS development, Android development, product delivery, compliance, release management, quality assurance and team leadership.
- built the first loylap ios apps from scratch through the ndrc accelerator programme; shipped v1 to the app/play store and iterated with early merchants.
- owned the full ios portfolio: architecture, development and release of the loylap member and merchant apps plus 80+ white label apps generated from a single codebase.
- designed and built the white label app generation system that became the company's primary growth channel.
- led sprint planning and delivery while remaining hands on in swift, objective-c, kotlin and java.
- handled development and deployment of the android merchant app from 2018 onward, delivering bug fixes, feature additions and significant refactors for maintainability.
- owned pci dss/gdpr compliance for card payment flows across four markets, leading audits and keeping regulated payment systems certified.
- recruited and mentored engineering interns; several progressed to full time engineering roles.
